Emily and Ben were married at St. Francis Hall in Washington, DC, on a crisp January afternoon. While it was a chilly day, the day was filled with so much warmth—from special moments shared among family and friends to the mulled wine served during cocktail hour—creating a celebration as inviting as it was beautiful.
This lovely day began with Emily and her ladies getting ready in the loft that overlooked the main hall! The getting ready part of the day is one of my favorites—there’s nothing better than seeing the bride or groom surrounded by their closest crew, keeping things light and fun while helping everything come together. It’s like a backstage pass to the laughs, nerves, and inside jokes before the main event kicks off. Everyone in this room was so giddy and excited, and I was amazed by the amount of hands serving Emily in that room – fixing her hair, touching up her makeup, buffing her ring, adjusting her jewelry. Many hands make work light!
Bridal party, family, and couple photos took place at the gorgeous gardens of the Franciscan Monastery, which were steps away from St. Francis Hall. Emily and Ben thoughtfully prepared for a cold day and had a close family friend supply the mulled wine during their photos. They even offered me some of the warm deliciousness.
Capturing the love and connection surrounding these two was an absolute honor. Cheers to Emily & Ben!
