This session with the Scheidt family was a dream. We started with some "fancy clothes" pictures in their front yard, and then everyone quickly changed into their everyday summer clothes. The kids showed me the flowers growing in their garden, they fed the chickens, they chased their new puppy, they threw the football with dad, they played a family favorite game in the living room.

Inviting a photographer into your home is vulnerable, and the privilege of being allowed in is not lost on me. It is a gift. In return, my hope is that images reflecting the joys of your everyday are also a gift to you.

I will leave you with this kind note from Erin — mom of this fun crew.

"From the moment she walked into the door we felt at ease and we were able to move on with our day as normal with her snapping pictures left and right, smiling in the corner looking on as we did our life. She was able to see things and capture things that I wouldn’t have even noticed. She was able to capture the personalities of each of my children, she was able to get the dynamics between all of them, she was able to see pieces of my yard that are beautiful and pieces of my yard that are messy but part of our day to day. There’s one picture in particular where the six of us are smiling in our more formal outfits, with yellow rain boots in the background. At first, I thought, why wouldn’t I move those? I should’ve moved those before the picture. But then after looking at that a little bit longer, I realized this is real life and one day I’m going to look back at that and miss those little yellow rain boots. It’s a beautiful picture of how full and happy and often messy our lives are. Maggie saw that and captured it all. A snapshot into the now. I’ll forever be grateful that she came and gave us her heart in her photography."
